Miguel Caballero USA stands behind the products it sells. Each design is made to meet the protection and comfort needs of our clients. The following warranty applies to Miguel Caballero USA products at the time of purchase.
Miguel Caballero USA warrants that ballistic panels shall meet the performance specifications set forth for a period of 5 years after the date of issue and that the clothing carrier sold in connection with shall be free from defects in material for a period of 1 year after the date of issue.
I. USE: Use of the bulletproof clothing article is exclusive to the wearer for whom the product was sized and made. The buyer cannot resell the product or transfer it to third parties under any circumstances. Wearers should never allow another person to use the personalized body armor.
II. CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Failure to closely follow the care instructions accompanying the product will automatically void this warranty.
III. ALTERATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS: Any alteration or modification of the ballistic panels or the clothing carrier will be causal of the warranty’s cancellation and releases Miguel Caballero USA of any legal commitment.
Alterations or modifications include the following:
• Violations of N.I.J. test protocols: Our warranty voids if any specification for protocol test procedures are violated, as specified by N.I.J. 01.01.04. Panels should never be tested on solid surfaces (example: tables, walls, etc.).
• Cutting the panel cover or the panel itself: Panels and/or panel covers that have been cut are not covered under the warranty.
IV. PROTECTION:
• Impacts from sharp objects: The materials used in the manufacturing of the ballistic panels absorb the energy from projectiles. They are NOT designed to stop spikes, picks, knives or other sharp objects unless otherwise noted.
• Ammunition impact that is NOT NATO: The warranty does not apply to ammunition that exceeds 1430 feet/second. The warranty does not apply to military and armor piercing ammunition made of steel. Designs only protect against NATO ammunition made only of lead or copper with a maximum velocity of 1430 feet/second.
• Impacts outside the protection area: The warranty is annulled if a projectile hits outside the area of protection defined by the ballistic panel.
• Ballistic panels not in place: Our warranty voids if the ballistic panels are not inside the clothing carrier, or if they are not properly adjusted.
V. REPAIRS: Loose needlework, loose Velcro, untied clasps, damaged zippers, untied reflective tapes and deteriorated vinyl will be replaced on products.
